Air Fryer Crispy Dill Pickles
SaveDill chips dried well, dipped through flour, egg, and seasoned crumbs, then air-fried in a single layer.

Allergen tags are cooking labels. They are not medical advice.
Ingredients
- 16 oz / 450 g jar Dill pickle chips, drained
- ⅓ cup All-purpose flour
- 1 Large egg
- 1 Tbsp Water
- ¾ cup Fine dry breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup Parmesan, finely grated
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp Black pepper
- As needed Cooking spray
Method
- Heat the air fryer to 400°F / 200°C.
- Pat the pickle chips very dry with towels. A wet chip throws its coating. If you want less brine, rinse the chips first, then pat again until the surfaces look matte.
- Set up three bowls: flour; the egg beaten with the water; breadcrumbs stirred with the Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and pepper. Do not add salt.
- Coat each chip in flour, then egg, then crumbs. Arrange them in a single layer in the basket and spray lightly.
- Air-fry 8–10 minutes, until the crumbs are deep golden. Serve right away. Work in batches rather than stacking the basket.
Nutrition
Kitchen estimate only, not lab-verified. Pickles are a high-sodium food even after a rinse. The coating adds crumbs and cheese.
Guest diet / allergy swaps
Short kitchen notes for guests. A fuller gluten-free or dairy-free ingredient list, when we have one, is in the panels below.
Low-sodium friendly
Pickles are salty by nature. Rinse the chips, pat them dry, and do not salt the crumbs. That is as far as this recipe bends.
Gluten-free style
Use a gluten-free flour and gluten-free breadcrumbs. Check the Parmesan if you avoid gluten strictly.
Dairy-free
Skip the Parmesan and add an extra teaspoon of Italian seasoning to the crumbs.
No egg
A spoon of mustard thinned with water can help the crumbs stick. The coat will be less even.
No air fryer
Bake on a rack at 425°F / 220°C for 12–15 minutes, turning once.
